About Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a treatment modality under the umbrella of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine, or TCM, is a comprehensive system used to understanding the body and treat disease. Chinese Medicine is the oldest practiced medicine in the world and there is a reason it has stood the test of time- it really works.
One of the foundations of TCM is the belief that each living thing has qi, which is life force. QI flows through the body in pathways known as meridians, which relate to hundreds of points on the skin. These points are known as acupoints. Pain and illness can result when blockages occur in the meridians and the flow of qi is inhibited.
Acupuncture is the strategic placement of ultra thin needles in the acupoints that correspond to the patients condition. The goal of an acupuncture appointment is to renew the healthy flow of qi and restore the body to balance.

My Philosophy
Every person, condition and situation is unique and should be treated as such. I believe that the body is always capable of healing and that as a practitioner, it is not my job to heal but to support the bodies own healing abilities through safe and natural practices.
